iRobot: Product Report, Reviews and Consumer Feedback

iRobot

iRobot manufactures robots that perform household cleaning tasks and that are available for purchase by the general public.

The most well-known of the products is the Roomba, which vacuums household rooms on autopilot. iRobot Roomba lifts dirt, dust, pet hair, cat litter, crumbs and other debris from your carpets and hard floors. It has powerful suction and rotating brushes, automatically navigates for best cleaning coverage, and cleans under and around furniture, into corners and along wall edges. It self-adjusts from carpets to hard floors and back again, and automatically avoids stairs, drop-offs and off-limit areas. It's simple to use - just press the clean button and Roomba does the rest.

Another product, iRobot Scooba, cleans hardwood and tile floors automatically. It uses a patented, 4-stage cleaning system to gently and efficiently remove up to 98 percent of bacteria from sealed hardwood, tile and linoleum floors. Scooba preps, washes, scrubs and squeegees hard floors, cleaning the entire area, under and around furniture and along wall and cabinet edges while automatically avoiding carpets, stairs and drop-offs. It preps, washes, scrubs and squeegees sealed hardwood, tile and linoleum floors, and knows where to clean and avoids rugs, carpets and cliffs. It cleans beneath cabinet edges, tables, chairs and other hard-to-reach places and kills up to 98 percent of common household bacteria. (When used as directed, laboratory testing results indicate removal of Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus bacteria after two passes of the Scooba floor washing robot. Individual results may vary.)

iRobot Verro cleans pools using a self-contained vacuum, pump and filter system to remove leaves, hair, sand, silt, pollen, algae and bacteria to clean surfaces and pool water. It is economical to use, reduces pool chemical consumption and reduces the run-time of your pool's filtration system. Verro is simple to use and requires no bulky hoses or booster pumps.

There are other home cleaning robots produced by iRobot, as well. Visit their Web site to learn more details.

Feedback, Reviews and Overview

"The Roomba does an excellent job of keeping my ceramic-tiled kitchen floor clean. I used to have to sweep my kitchen floor almost daily in order to clean up cereal, toast crumbs, raisins, ramen noodles (after they’ve hardened of course), etc. I’ll usually run the Roomba 3-4 times per week in my kitchen. When the Roomba is finished with the kitchen, I’ll then empty it out and think to myself how gross our household is as I pour the Roomba’s vacuumed-up contents into my trash can. The amount of crap that accumulates on our kitchen floor is shocking to say the least."

"In the morning when I leave for work I let it go and by the time I am home, my house is clean and I don't have to worry about the boring chore of vacuuming. My friend had a very positive experience buying directly from iRobot--he said they give you free shipping if your order is over $100 (which it will be)."

"The new version has gotten much easier to clean, especially the main brush. All the pieces now pop in and out of place easier and there are no screws to remove any of the pieces that need cleaning. This has proven to be a huge benefit."
