About eHarmony.com: In 1997, after 35 years practicing as a clinical psychologist and counseling thousands of married couples, Dr. Neil Clark Warren had come to believe that there was a better way to find love than leaving it up to chance. He knew from his experience in clinical work that although some American marriages were ending in divorce, many others were deeply satisfying unions of two fulfilled individuals. He observed that, in many cases, the marriages that endured were composed of compatible people, while marriages that deteriorated often did so because the differences between the individuals became harder to resolve over time. What if he could define the traits most likely to lead to relationship success? Could certain characteristics predict compatibility and lead to more satisfying relationships?
Dr. Warren set out to test this theory in collaboration with Dr. Galen Buckwalter, then a research professor at the University of Southern California. They sought to identify the characteristics between spouses that were consistently associated with the most successful relationships. After three years of research and development, they successfully identified the key dimensions of personality that predicted compatibility and the potential for long-term relationship success.
Pasadena-based eHarmony (www.eharmony.com) launched in the United States in 2000 and is now the #1 Trusted Relationship Services Provider in the USA, according to the eHarmony.com Web site. eHarmony’s patented Compatibility Matching System allows eHarmony members to be matched with compatible persons with whom they are likely to enjoy a long-term relationship. "I've read so many terrible reviews of Eharmony, and I don't really understand them. I've been a member for about a week and I always have matches, they rarely don't have photos, and communication has gone great. I haven't met anyone off of the site yet, so understandable they could all be liars- but that's not Eharmony's fault. I guess it depends on the area you live in, but I haven't had a problem yet. Good luck to everyone out there!"

"eHarmony service costs more than other dating sites because its users want more than just a date. eHarmony members are very serious about meeting someone special. They pay $49.95 for a one-month subscription, $99.95 for a three-month subscription, $149.95 for a six-month subscription, and $249.95 for an entire year of membership. The price is not for the faint at heart. eHarmony members make a true commitment to finding their perfect match. The cost may appear high on the surface, however you have to compare track records. eHarmony has the highest rate of matching now married couples who used a website to find each other. If you are truly looking for the Mr. or Ms. Right, this is the right place for you. ... The integrity of eHarmony shows in its commitment to its members. During ad campaigns, the couples are true eHarmony members who met and married."

"In regards to their service, I have no recommendations because their execution is nearly flawless. eHarmony's slogan is 'fall in love for all the right reasons' and they seem to provide the proper service that allows that to happen."

Pasadena, Calif.-based eHarmony, Inc. (www.eharmony-inc.com) was founded in 2000 and is a pioneer in using relationship science to match singles seeking long-term relationships. Its original service, available in the United States, Canada, Australia and United Kingdom, presents users with compatible matches based on key dimensions of personality that are scientifically proven to predict highly successful long-term relationships. eHarmony, Inc. also operates a network of dating and relationship, wedding planning and parenting websites that give people resources and support to make better decisions at important times in their lives.

Each new eHarmony user begins by completing a comprehensive relationship questionnaire. After completing the questionnaire, eHarmony members are presented with a pool of matches of other users who have been scientifically evaluated to be compatible with them. eHarmony guides members through a four-stage process for getting to know their matches and making intelligent decisions about whether to initiate contact. eHarmony then enables users to directly communicate with each other, protecting their identity until they feel comfortable revealing it.
